Ensembles
This orchestra will provide students an opportunity to develop advanced techniques, improve vibrato, tone quality, use of various bowing styles and improve music reading skills. This is a competing orchestra at the sub non-varsity level for the UIL Concert and Sightreading Evaluation provided the class has met all requirements and preparation for the competing event at the director’s discretion. There are minimal after-school obligations, but participation in mandated activities (such as concerts) is required. Private lessons are encouraged.

This ensemble is the flagship program of the Clear Falls Orchestra program. This orchestra will provide students an opportunity to perform at the most advanced level. Students must demonstrate mastery of all upper position techniques, use of vibrato, characteristic tone quality, various bowing styles, and have excellent music-reading and superb sightreading skills. This is a competing orchestra at the varsity level for the UIL Concert and Sightreading Evaluation. After-school rehearsals are required as this group serves as the string section for the Clear Falls Full Orchestra in the fall and spring semesters. Exceptional behavior, musical growth, commitment, and strong personal motivation are priorities for membership in this group. Participation in private lessons, Solo and Ensemble Contest, All-Region and All-State orchestra auditions are required and expected.
This award winning ensemble is a collaborative program of the most advanced students in both Clear Falls Orchestra and Clear Falls Band programs. In 2023, this ensemble was ranked 4th in the state for the TMEA Honor Orchestra Competition. This is a competing orchestra at the varsity level for the UIL Concert and Sightreading Evaluation. After-school rehearsals are required in the fall and spring semesters for our winter and spring pops concert. Exceptional behavior, musical growth, commitment, and strong personal motivation are priorities for membership in this group.
