About the Director
Timothy Rowland, violist, is the director of orchestra at Clear Falls High School. Prior to his current position, he was the orchestra director at Clear Creek Intermediate for 8 years. Mr. Rowland received his master’s degree in viola performance from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music and his bachelor’s degree in viola performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Mr. Rowland grew up in Columbus, Ohio where he began playing at the age of 10. In high school, he began studying with Deborah Price and attending the Chamber Music Connection where he discovered his joy for playing chamber music. Mr. Rowland performs with the Clear Lake Chamber Ensemble, the Clear Lake Symphony Orchestra and Divisi Strings. Mr. Rowland has had the privilege of playing under some of the world’s greatest conductors including Marin Alsop, Larry Rachleff, Carl Topilow, and more.
