Director of Orchestras
David Chisum is in his second year as Director for Clear Falls High School. He began his teaching career in February 2008 in Vacaville, CA. He has been a director for Round Rock ISD (Grisham Middle School, Westwood High School, Deerpark Middle School) from August 2008 to June of 2015. He was split campus all 7 years; he was the Head Director of Grisham (2008-2015), Deerpar (2008-2012), and the Assistant at Westwood (2012-2015). In his time working with Westwood, he was able to conduct the 2013 String Honor Orchestra TMEA and the 2013 Invited Full Orchestra at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. His orchestras consistently earned Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sight-reading Evaluation.
At the conclusion of the 2014-2015 school year, he took at job at Bowie High School in Southwest Austin working for Austin ISD. In his 4 years, he was able to turn a program around. In his first year, the varsity orchestra earned a sweepstakes at both Full and String Orchestra Concert and Sight-reading for the first time since 2003. The program increased by an enrollment of 25% in his four years on campus.
He is a graduate of Texas Tech University, Fall 2007, where he earned his Bachelor's in Music Education with a concentration in violin under Dr. John Gilbert.
Currently, the director at Clear Falls, he enjoys camping, golfing, and cooking in his free time.
